Teaching Materials
As a teacher, I put a great deal of emphasis on being prepared, being organized, and providing valuable content and feedback for my students. Here are some sample materials that I use in teaching digital storytelling and other content.
Presentations
I use presentations to introduce concepts and examples that students can use in building their digital stories. This is a presentation I gave in a workshop to introduce other teachers to digital storytelling. It contains links to my own and others' digital stories.
handouts
I provide numerous handouts in my classes that are available both in hard copy and electronically. This is a handout that guides students through the process of finding royalty-free photos and music that do not require permissions.
instructional videos
I routinely create short videos that supplement or replace classroom instruction. This is a video that explains to students a quick way to make their Word documents look professional.
feedback
I give students detailed feedback on their work, gently providing guidance on how they might revise and improve their projects. Feedback is frequently in writing, but I also offer verbal feedback and voice recordings as well.
““The feedback you’ve provided this semester has been phenomenal
and extremely helpful. I can’t thank you enough!””
